The eggplant or aubergine is a plant of the nightshade family, which makes it a close relation of the tomato and potato. Eggplants come in all shapes and colours and different varieties do range slightly in taste and texture, but can generally be described as having a pleasantly bitter taste and spongy texture. Our eggplants are grown in Carter & Spencer greenhouses in Moore Park, Queensland to produce perfect, blemish free fruit for premium cooking and eating. We also source field grown eggplants from all over Queensland and Victoria.
